Yes, okay, some archangels surround Aziraphale and hit him (once). Some archangels, I suppose, who are sick of everything getting muddled and delayed because their agent on Earth has lost the Antichrist by spending time partying with a demon. Some archangels who are probably tired of seeing their boss in a horrible mood because, because of this Principality, he cannot carry anything forward.

I think that despite that, hitting Azi was wrong, because an angel should never resort to those methods (nor spend his time on Earth fucking demons, by the way). But it is not hard for me to imagine that just before the Apocalypse everyone was tired, desperate and deeply fed up with Aziraphale, and that Gabriel always had too much on his plate because of him.
